Call for Nominations

In 2016, Lathisms was born out of a desire to feature the extensive contributions in research, mentoring and service of prominent Latinx and Hispanic mathematicians.  After two very successful years, sixty-one amazing individuals have shared their outstanding accomplishments in these pages. It is our hope that their mathematical journeys and achievements will inspire the next generation of mathematicians.

We want to continue the mission of Lathisms for years to come during the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. And we want you, the Latinx/Hispanic and Mathematical communities at large, to remain involved in this project by nominating Latinx and/or Hispanic mathematicians that you believe should be featured in this website in the future.

For the 2018 edition of our calendar we want to focus on graduate students in the final stages of their doctorate program and early career academics (postdocs, visiting assistant professors and pre-tenure faculty) whose research and mentoring deserve recognition; but nominations of mathematicians at any stage of their academic or professional career, including self nominations, are welcome. Please submit your nomination, along with 1-2 paragraphs about your nominee, to lathisms@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
